The Virgil Sturgeon’s Daniel Jackson has just performed at a beach concert at St Barthélemy, in the Caribbean, a perfect venue for a group named after a Sturgeon fish…The event organiser’s budget couldn’t stretch to fly the other band members Simon and Gabriel over from Europe, so Dan sang with a DJ playing instrumentals from the Catch and Release EP. Jennifer Ward has painted the Treehouse CD sleeve! The music has been recorded in a studio out in the countryside and her illustration reflects this. The CD will be available in the Woodshed shop in the not too distant future.

Fresh from the gorgeous shores of Iceland comes Skurken, a musician who has revisited and reworked P for Panther’s track Hammock. Click on the music player below for an 18 minute blend of his music. Tracklisting:
“Melody is everything to me. My influences include corny Icelandic 80’s ballads, jazz, funk and soul, old computer game themes, drum&bass, breakbeat, elves and nature too, I’m Icelandic after all. Someone said my music is ‘emo’. I hope they’re right - assuming the term ‘emo’ means what I think it does.” Skurken
